FAQ

SIZE/FIT

Your clothing is one size. How will I know if it will fit me?
We do our best to represent common measurements i.e.: chest, sleeve, inseam, and garment lengths. Please email us if there is a particular measurement with which you are concerned. We are happy to provide it. In general, Fog Linen clothing fits up to a US size 8. However, depending on individual bodies and the different cuts of garments, this can vary slightly. It’s always safest to refer to the individual measurements of each garment and measure yourself.

What does the "neck to sleeve" measurement mean?
The neck to sleeve measurement is measured from the middle of the neck of a garment to the cuff of the sleeve.

Why is your clothing one size?
This is simply a design choice.

Can I order a custom size?
At this point we cannot provide single custom sized items. Depending on the particular item, larger bulk custom orders can be accommodated. These inquiries are handled on a case-by-case basis. Just email us with any inquiries.

LINEN AND LINEN CARE

Where is your linen from?
All of the linen used to produce Fog Linen Work goods is from Lithuania. There, the flax is grown and woven into linen fabric. Our finished linen goods are also made in Lithuania.

How do I care for my Fog Linen item?
All of our linen items are NOT pre-washed. You can expect some shrinkage-anywhere from 10-15%.
Proper care of your linen purchase will not only extend the life of your item, but simply, allow you to enjoy it longer. Our items can be hand-washed or machine washed. If using a machine, please wash on temperatures no higher than 30 C / 86 F and wash with like colors. Line-dry is always the best option, but if you must use a dryer, only tumble on a low setting. Drying on high heat can result in more shrinkage.

Why is there lint when I tumble dry my linen?
As mentioned above, Fog Linen Work linen is not pre-washed. Nor is it treated with chemicals to make it artificially 'soft'. You can expect your linen items to lint while in a tumble dry cycle. This is normal and is part of the life cylce of linen fiber and any natural fiber item. Lint production means that your linen is just getting softer and softer. Linen is a natural fiber that softens and gets smoother over time, and it does so by shedding excess fibers. Line drying your linen items can reduce lint. Linting is not faulty or indicative of defect. As with most natural fiber products, it's simply a normal and natural occurrence.

Do I need to iron my linen?
If you run a house like Downton Abbey, then yes. However, if you’re like the rest of us, a smoothing out straight from the line or dryer will render your linen socially acceptable. It’s really just a matter of what you are comfortable with. If using an iron, a medium to medium-high setting will have you smooth in a jiffy.

I’ve never used a linen bath towel. Will I like it?
We cannot predict if you are going to like linen as a bath towel. If you are accustomed to a thick cotton terry towel, this will be a completely new experience. If you are new to linen, our suggestion is that you purchase something small like a wash cloth or a hand towel. You’ll get the opportunity to give our linens a whirl without financially over-committing.

If an item is "Out of Stock" will it be restocked?
Most of our items are restocked within two weeks. Feel free to inquire about any item at info[at]shop-foglinen[dot]com. Alternatively, simply click the 'email me when back in stock' button and you will receive an email notification as soon as the item has returned.

GIFT WRAP

Do you gift wrap and if so, could you enclose a note with my order?
We offer complimentary gift wrap and would be happy to enclose a note with your gift as well. At checkout, please leave us a note in the comments section when to let us know you'd like your gift wrapped and what you'd like the card to say.

What is your return policy?
Great question—and thank you for reading it before you make your purchase. It’s right here: www.shop-foglinen.com/pages/returns

I bought an item on your site that was ‘on sale’. Can I return or exchange it?
No. Items purchased ‘on sale’ are final and cannot be returned or exchanged.

I purchased a Fog Linen item from another store.  Can I return it to you or exchange it for something in your on-line store?
No.  Any items purchased from other Fog Linen Work retailers need to be returned to those retailers.

BRICK AND MORTAR

Do you have a brick and mortar location?
Sort of. We share a small store-front with our sister company Pod where you can find an assortment of what you see on this website. We rotate our merchandise often, so if you happen to visit and do not see an item you’ve looked at here, simply ask. We’ve got it safely tucked away. Our street address is: 35 Sacramento Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02138 USA
