Throughout South East Asia, the lungi is a traditional textile garment worn around the waist by both men and women. Constructed of cotton madras material, each lungi is one of an assortment of blues, greens, checks and plaids. The pattern you receive will be a surprise. The grid below shows examples of the type you lungi you might receive.
These large pieces of textile make a perfect quick tablecloth, curtain, shawl, or beach sheet. If you decide to use your lungi as raw material for other sewing projects, we recommend washing and drying first before cutting. Actually, we recommend washing it first for anything. It will become a lot more soft and delightful.
